"Angie Smith! Don't let this one get away!"
When I first started writing this blog about ways to help out Angie Smith, Pro Stock Motorcycle Racer, I was hoping to reach out to all her fans for assistance in funding her 2012 NHRA Season. In REALITY, I believe this would only have been a temporary fix with more complications you could ever imagine. Oh I am sure that most, if not all of you, would love to see Angie racing the entire 2012 season just as I would. In this day and age, sponsorship's are not easy to come by. Although, I be feel that the tables are turning and marketing prospects are slowly taking interest in the NHRA. We can't let this one get away! Angie Smith with her Talents and her Beauty, brings a lot more to the table in Marketing Strategy. She is such a great ambassador to Pro Stock Motorcycle and the NHRA, with the right marketing techniques , would bring success to her, the NHRA, and the company that partners with her. So what I propose is that we all petition to sponsor prospects, open their eyes, and share what each and everyone of us feel about having Angie back in the Pro Stock Motorcycle Field in 2012. Whether you reach out via Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, or all of them put together, lets get the word out and flood social media with hopes that a company will see the potential of success with Angie Smith.

"Doug Herbert" One Great Man!!
If you have followed the NHRA throughout the years, then you will know who Doug Herbert is. If you are new to the NHRA Drag Series, then it is time to know more about a great man who contributes mostly all of his time to charities, hard work, interacting with fans on twitter & Facebook, and striving to bounce back into the NHRA Top Fuel Drag Racing field. If you follow him on twitter, then you know his top priority is speaking with the fans, and his fans thoroughly appreciate the time he takes to answer any questions or just to give you a shout out. Doug Herbert's twitter name is @Doug Herbert
Doug Herbert is the only four-time IHRA Top Fuel Champion in history. He won the coveted title in 1992, 1994, 1995 and 1996. Racing has always been a large part of Herbert's life. Growing up in Southern California he began by racing BMX bicycles, which after two years led to his involvement in motocross racing. Herbert then made the transfer from land to water as he began competing in boat racing's Stock Outboard and MOD VP categories. After two years of boat racing, he dropped anchor and began his drag racing career in the NHRA Top Alcohol classes, eventually advancing to the Top Fuel classes of the NHRA and IHRA.
When Herbert is not on the track, he's managing Herbert Performance Parts, a multi-million dollar high-performance auto parts business that his father, Chet Herbert, started in 1959. The company's headquarters are located in Cherryville, N.C
In 2008 B.R.A.K.E.S was founded by Doug Herbert. B.R.A.K.E.S., which stands for Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe, is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization founded by NHRA Top Fuel drag racer Doug Herbert in memory of his two sons who were killed in a car accident on January 26, 2008 in Cornelius, NC. By training and educating teenage drivers and their parents, the foundation aims to promote safe driving in an attempt to prevent injuries and save lives. B.R.A.K.E.S. mission is to prevent injuries and save lives by training and educating teenage drivers and their parents about the importance of safe and responsible driving. There will be a link on the bottom of this post that you can go to to learn more on B.R.A.K.E.S. and Doug Herbert.
Doug Herbert is on the final stages of securing funding that would put him back behind his Top Fuel Dragster for 2012 and hopefully many years to come. We are all hoping and praying that we will see him back in the Top Fuel Field, competing and winning rounds, that will bring many Wally's his way.
On Saturday January 14th at the Greensboro Coliseum, NC. Doug Herbert joined other legendary racers such as Ronnie Sox, Rickie Smith, Roy Hill and others in the North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame. “Doug Herbert is not only the most accomplished Top Fuel racer to reside in North Carolina with 30 national events wins in the NHRA and the IHRA series; he also is one of the State’s most proficient drag racing entrepreneurs.
Put on The B.R.A.K.E.S., will host its Inaugural Southern California Benefit Dinner February 24, 2012 at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, CA. The night will include a special program, dinner, cocktails, silent and live auctions and celebrity guests. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Doug Herbert's Put on the B.R.A.K.E.S., which provides free hands on driver training to teens. The dinner will be the largest fund raiser on the west coast and Doug looks forward to hosting his NHRA friends and fans as well as all his B.R.A.K.E.S. supporters. This will be a great night where attendees can mingle with NHRA celebrities and raise money for a great cause. With the support of Tom Compton and the NHRA, B.R.A.K.E.S. has trained nearly 1,000 teens in the Southern California area, this is a great way to promote the NHRA message that racing is for the track and safe defensive driving is what needs to be done on the street."
I highly recommend following Doug Herbert on twitter, "Liking" his pages on FaceBook, and getting to know this great man. His Passions for all he does runs very deep and is admired by so many for all of his accomplishments.
